Abhishikta Mukhopadhyay

Abhishikta started learning Kathak from a very young age of 3 years under the tutelage of Smt. Manisha Bhattacharya in Durgapur Kala Mandir. Later, she underwent rigorous training in both Jaipur and Lucknow Gharana under the direction of Shri. Ashim Bandhu Bhattacharjee. Currently, she is completing her advanced training under the guidance of Smt. Madhumita Roy. She received a junior CCRT scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in 2011. She participated in various festivals all over India as a repertoire member of Upasana Center for Dance under the guidance of Shri Ashim Bandhu Bhattacharjee. Some examples are the International Puri Beach Festival, Konark Dance Festival, Jaipur Kathak Samaraho, Sindhu Festival, Mumbai, Visva Virasat in Alva’s Foundation, Mangalore, Sishu Kishor Utsav, West Bengal, Pt. Arjun Mishra Punyatithi International Dance and Music Festival, Asian Youth Festival. She has also presented solo recital performances at various festivals like Nritya Prabaha, Kathak Marathan, Prerona Dance Festival by Malashree, Kathak Youth Festival organized by Padatik, Ghat Sandhya in Benaras, HCL concerts. She has completed a diploma course from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, India and currently runs her own institute named Aaradhana Center for Dance based in Kolkata, India.
