Isabelle Anna

Born in an artistic environment and specially dedicated to the performing arts of India, Isabelle Anna started learning Bharata Natyam at the age of five. Along with a solid musical training, she studied classical ballet and drama until her entrance to the university where he develops his interest in literature and languages Foreign. In 1998, she discovered Kathak dance (Lucknow tradition) with Sharmila Sharma, disciple of Birju Maharaj, teacher at Centre Mandapa, Paris, founded and run by her parents.
ICCR and French Ministry scholar in 2001, she completed her Honours (2004) and Post Diploma (2006) in Kathak dance under the direction of Pt Jaikishan Maharaj, son of Late Pt Birju Maharaj at prestigious Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, and lived in New Delhi till 2010.
On the panel of the ICCR as a Kathak soloist in 2007, she performed extensively in India (Khajuraho Festival, Chakradhar Samaroh, Bonjour India tour with Alliance Française in India, Neemrana Fort Palace, Kamani Auditorium, ICCR Azad Bhawan, NCPA Mumbai...), in Pakistan, Bangladesh, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain....
She now runs Centre Mandapa and shares herself between Kathak recitals, her own choreographies and teaching.
