Jaymini Sahai is a Kathak dance artist based in the UK. She started her Kathak journey at the age of 6 years with Nilima Devi, learning the Jaipur style of Kathak. After completing her “Manch Pravesh” in 2008, Jaymini took further training with Padma Shri Pratap Pawar, the first ganda bandh shagird of Pandit Birju Maharaj . She is currently under the guidance of Vidushi Mamta Maharaj. Jaymini set up her company “Aradhana Arts” in 2010 which aims to preserve the traditions of Kathak dance in the UK. She regularly conducts workshops for schools and for community events. She is passionate about performing and teaching dance as well as curating new and exciting projects along with her husband, critically acclaimed tabla maestro Pandit Sanju Sahai, a 6th generation of tabla artist of the Benares Gharana. Jaymini balances her full time career in technology as an IT consultant with her profound passion for performing arts.
