Nidhika is a Virginia based Kathak dancer who has been trained by the well-acclaimed Kathak dance couple, Hari and Chethana, the directors of Noopur Performing Art Center, Bangalore, India. She is also a student of Pandit Sri. Divyang Vakil, from who she is learning Taal and Indian Rhythms. She has been featured in numerous performances at various dance festivals in India including Brahma Gana Sabha- Chennai, Shivaratri Mahotsav- Vellore, Naada Niranjanam- Tirupati, Natyajanli FestivalPerur and Hampi Utsav to name a few. She has also performed at the Kennedy Art Center- Washington DC, Wolf Trap – Virginia, Baltimore Theater Project – Maryland, National Arts Center- Ottawa, Panteges Play house- Winnipeg, Korzo Theater- Netherlands, Gandhi Center- Netherlands, Musée Guimet- Paris, éspace Culturel Django Reinhardt- Strasbourg. She was also selected to give a talk on Kathak at a TEDx conference in Boston in 2016. With her rigorous training and exposure to Kathak, she wishes to delve deeper into its nuances and aims to present its works that communicate beyond cultures and languages.
