Ruchi Tandon

Ruchi Tandon has been learning Kathak under the guidance of Prashant Shah and Sahasra Sambamoorthi for nearly a decade in New York City. Her journey with Kathak began as a child in Mumbai, and her enduring love for the art form drew her back to it as an adult, a journey that has continued with passion and dedication ever since.

Ruchi is a lead dancer with Prashant Shah & Dancers and has performed with the troupe in prestigious venues and cities across the United States, such as Indian Fine Arts Academy San Diego, New York Kathak Festival, Carnegie Hall. She is also an integral part of Navatman, a leading Indian arts institution in NYC, where she learns and teaches Kathak. As part of Navatman, she has been a part of acclaimed productions such as The Mahabharata and Dashavatar, and has performed at events including the Jamaica Arts Festival.

In July 2024, Ruchi completed her RangManch Pravesh under the guidance of Prashant Shah; a milestone that reflects her deep study and understanding of the nuances of Kathak.

Beyond the world of dance, Ruchi brings the same dedication to her work as a software engineer in New York City.
